Energy: The River of Life

We are each filled with universal life force energy. This energy is the essence of our being, our consciousness, our soul. As the flow of life force energy moves through our physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies, it can become unbalanced, stagnant, or blocked. When this happens, we experience what is called dis-ease. “Dis-ease,” as the spelling suggests, is “lack of ease.” It is the inability of one’s life force energy to flow freely.

Dis-ease is our reaction to unbalanced life force energy in our physical, emotional, or spiritual body. This unbalanced energy can manifest as physical problems (disease) or life patterns and cycles that keep us from growing. In the physical body, dis-ease manifests as headaches, back pain, arthritis, or cancer. In the emotional body, it manifests as anger, rage, phobias, depression, and hate. In the spiritual body, it manifests as narrow-mindedness, disrespect for life and nature, or materialism.

Let’s look at the concept of dis-ease from another perspective. Visualize your life force energy as a fast-moving stream. This stream flows in the path of least resistance. If a large stone is placed in the center of the stream, the water must go around the stone. The flow of the stream has moved out of its natural path and become unbalanced.

Now consider the very first time you felt invalidated in some way. It was as if a large stone had been placed in the stream of your life flow. If you are invalidated again, another stone is added to your stream, and your life force energy must yield and flow around the larger blockage. These blockages can grow, instance-by-instance, stone after stone, until your body starts to manifest these blockages as dis-ease.

For some, these stones have been blocking our streams of life energy since early childhood. Changing these blockages would mean changing how we perceive the world around us, even how we perceive ourself. For some of us, there is a level of denial in which we know there is something wrong, but we deny that it belongs to us. Others can see these blockages in their physical, emotional, or spiritual bodies, but they are unsure how to take the stones out of the stream and release the stagnant energy so it will flow again and bring changes to their lives.

Each of us has the ability to heal ourselves of dis-ease. The easiest to way to heal ourselves is just to let go. This is easy to say, but very difficult to do. “Allow the body, mind, and spirit to release all of the energy that it is holding on to,” we advise, “and let go.” If we can do this, our life force can return to its natural place of balance and harmony. This is, of course, harder to do than we usually think it is.

There are many techniques we can use to release energy that is not in harmony with our highest good. Humor is the easiest way to get stagnant energy flowing again. Look at what is going on around you and find some humor in it. Laugh at the world and its issues. Enjoy the release you experience with a good laugh. If laughter doesn’t work, try meditation, any kind of physical exertion, or engage in creative expression, like creating art or writing. Even simple every-day tasks like washing dishes or raking leaves are excellent tools for unblocking energy.

Other techniques that help us release stagnant energy are massage, Reiki, aura/chakra clearing, and medical intuitive healing. Although each of these techniques works on our physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies, one technique may work better on one specific body than another.

Massage in its many forms is the physical manipulation of the muscles. Massage is an excellent tool for breaking up blockages that accumulate in the muscles, tendons, and joints. These blockages are commonly referred to as “knots.” As the healer works to break up the energy accumulated within a knot, the stagnant energy dissipates and our life force energy can start to flow again. Many people are familiar with the relief to sore muscles they experience during and after a massage.

Another way of removing blocks is thought the use of Reiki, which is a form of hands-on-healing. The Japanese word Reiki means “universal life force energy.” During a Reiki treatment, healing energy brought in from the universe runs thought the healer’s hands and is transmitted to the person to be healed. Starting at the top of the head of the person to be healed, the healer moves his or her hands in a number of positions. Each position is maintained for three to five minutes or until the healer feels that the area has been cleared. The healer then continues working down the rest of the body, clearing stagnant energy wherever it lurks. Reiki is an excellent tool, especially when dealing with physical problems, in that it heals down to the cellular level.

An aura/chakra clearing, which is a form of clairvoyant healing, is a third method for getting our life force energy flowing again. The aura is the electromagnetic field around the body, our “personal space” or “personal bubble.” The charkas, which are spinning energy centers in the body, often become blocked or unbalanced. There are seven major chakras and seven layers to the aura. Each chakra or layer vibrates at a different frequency and color and processes different types of issues: survival, sexuality and social issues, will power, love, communication, visualization, and wisdom. Chakras are like the aperture of a camera in that they open and close. In physiological terms, chakras (which are not physical but energetic) are located where groups of nerves meet to form nerve centers. They are also related to the endocrine gland system, which includes the adrenal gland, thyroid, and the pituitary glands.

In a healthy body, each layer of the aura is brightly colored, vibrant, full of nicely flowing energy. But when our energy is unbalanced, stagnant, or blocked, the aura can look discolored, ripped, torn, or dented. The chakras, in a healthy body, should also look clear, vibrant, and full of energy. They should be round and rotate in a clockwise direction. When we are afflicted, our chakras look cracked, deformed, or out of alignment with each other. If the aura or the charkas are out of balance, this can have a direct effect on the information we process.

During a clearing session, the healer will look directly at our aura and chakras. He or she will visualize images such as feather dusters, squeegees, or brooms to clear out blockages in the different layers of the aura. The healer may also sew up rips and tears in the aura and get the aura flowing again and reshape or fill the cracks in broken charkas. Chakras that are not moving are set spinning again.

While clearing our aura and healing our chakras, the healer may also describe the types of energy he is looking at and tell the person being healed what he sees. This energy may appear as a color, a feeling, or a picture. The person being healed now has a conscious understanding of what energy he is holding on to. This new information can help him to release the stagnant energy and give him permission to make positive changes in his life.

Medical intuitive healing, as the name suggests, is another form of clairvoyant healing. During this type of healing, which can include psychic surgery, the healer may look at our muscular and skeletal health, our organs and glands, and the level of toxins in our body along with specific health issues. The healer can also look at emotional issues, life patterns, and physical injuries.

During a healing session, a medical intuitive can address numerous issues that include (but are not limited to) clearing energy from the aura and chakras, organs, and glands. A skilled medical intuitive can also assist in the healing after surgery or an accident, assist in reducing pain, and assist in deprogramming recurring emotional issues such as abuse, fear, and control.

With all healing techniques, including massage, Reiki, aura/chakra clearings, or medical intuitive healing, the healer can only assist in restoring balance to our life force energy. We must be willing to release stagnant energy in order to experience its affects on physical, emotional, or spiritual levels. It is this release of energy that allows the healing process to begin.
