Relevant options to enhance
your health

The American Holistic Health Association (AHHA) offers a free monthly Special Updates email report that includes a Featured Research item. The goal is to present research that may be relevant as you (and your healthcare support team) consider health-enhancing lifestyle and treatment options. Through the years AHHA has used a number of sources that generously provided us appropriate research to be included in the eReports. These sources were selected because of their known high standards for evaluating research. One source, Aisle 7, is unfortunately no longer in this database. The new parent company for Aisle 7 discontinued this project and according to our agreement AHHA was required to remove all of their articles.

High Cholesterol - Garlic

After analyzing dozens of clinical trials evaluating the effects of garlic on cholesterol levels researchers have concluded that garlic significantly reduces both total cholesterol and triglyceride levels. If you are at risk for heart disease, you may want to discuss garlic with your physician. Details are in the article “New Study Supports Cholesterol-Lowering Effects of Garlic” from the February, 2012, issue of Natural Standard’s Integrative Medicine Newsletter.
