Relevant options to enhance
your health

The American Holistic Health Association (AHHA) offers a free monthly Special Updates email report that includes a Featured Research item. The goal is to present research that may be relevant as you (and your healthcare support team) consider health-enhancing lifestyle and treatment options. Through the years AHHA has used a number of sources that generously provided us appropriate research to be included in the eReports. These sources were selected because of their known high standards for evaluating research. One source, Aisle 7, is unfortunately no longer in this database. The new parent company for Aisle 7 discontinued this project and according to our agreement AHHA was required to remove all of their articles.

Stroke - Lycopene

A recent study of men ages 46 to 65 showed that those with high lycopene blood concentrations had over fifty percent reduced risk of stroke. Dietary sources for lycopene are tomatoes and tomato-based products. Details of this research are presented in “Eating More Tomatoes May Reduce Stroke Risk” in the October, 2012, issue of Natural Standard’s Integrative Medicine Newsletter.
